The Costa Rica Convention Bureau was founded in July of 1998 by a Group of businessmen representing the Costa Rican tourism industry, and whose vision it was to develop the MICE market in order to increase the number of visitors to our country. New alternatives, such as the establishment of 5-star international hotel chains and elegant boutique hotels have spearheaded the initiative to attract this market segment.
We are a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Costa Rica as a highly attractive incentive and meetings destination. We are made up of 45 leading tourism industry. Our members Hotels, Destination Management Companies and specialized Outfitters are top-of-the-line businesses, their vast experience and expertise in the management, planning and execution of incentive or seminar programs are their presentation card.
We have worked closely with the Costa Rica Tourist Board to create and implement advertising and promotional media such as: The Official Costa Rica Guide of Meetings and Incentive Travel, maps, brochures and special interest photos among others. In addition, and in order to ensure a high quality product for our meeting and incentive buyers, we have developed superior educational programs for the Costa Rica travel industry.
